About Me

My Story

My name is Hugh and I began trading stocks in 2011. After my initial purchases into some blue chip stocks in Australia, I began to develop a passion for the markets which justified further research. Initially I read books such as Stan Weinstein's "Secrets for profiting in Bull and Bear markets', Jack Schwager's "Market Wizards - Interview with Top Traders", and Nicolas Darvas's "How I made $2,000,000 in the Stock Market". These books provided me with a solid foundation and allowed me to begin experimenting with different trading strategies and money management techniques.

In 2013, I decided to undertake further education and completed a diploma of share trading from a local investment service. While this solidified my understanding of market structures and price action it did not teach me the importance of mindset and emotions.

In early 2015, after more inconsistent results, I had an epiphany about what was required to achieve consistent profits. I began to implement a more structured plan and became profitable by the end of 2015.

Since then, I have continued to work on my edge and allow my trades in the US and Australian stock markets to play out according to my strategy.

Trading Style

I am a trend trader looking for specific setups which will allow me exit my losing trades quickly and allow me to ride winning trades. While my approach is mechanical in nature, I use discretion in my entries and exits according to the way the market structure develops.
